In episode 2 of this Montana rifle elk hunt, Randy and Tim continue their search for a bull in the area they are camped. They have access to great glassing points which allow them to see huge expanses of country, but they still aren't turning up the number of elk that they should be.



Over the next couple days they are hoping that the severe winter weather that is forecasted for that area help bring bulls down through this migration area. Tempted to check out different areas, Randy is restricted to this certain area due to limitations from their film permit.



So without being able to pick up stakes and head to a totally different area, they keep diligently watching the area. As the weather approaches, it diminishes their visibility to be able to glass very far anyway. If any elk have moved down into this staging area, it's going to be hard to find them until the snow lightens up.
