20 Years in the Making: Randy’s Colorado Public Land Elk Hunt (Extended Cut)
41m
This hunt was 20 years in the making.
After applying for this Colorado elk unit for nearly two decades and being unsuccessful 19 times, Randy Newberg finally drew the tag he had been waiting for. Now, for the first time, fans can watch the extended cut of this unforgettable public land elk hunt.
A late-season elk hunt in Western Colorado is never easy, and this year brought an added challenge. Unseasonably warm temperatures pushed bull elk into the deepest, most rugged canyons at nearly 9,000 feet in elevation. What looked like a difficult hunt quickly became a test of patience, endurance, and persistence.
With post-rut bulls grouped up in bachelor groups and seeking refuge from the heat, Randy had multiple opportunities to chase some incredible public land elk. After waiting 20 years for this moment, every mile, climb, and glassing session was worth it.
Join Randy on one of the most memorable elk hunts of his career as he finally gets his chance in this Colorado elk unit.
