I Screwed This Up! | Montana Rifle Elk (EP. 3)
MT Rifle Elk Day by Day

In episode 3 of this Montana rifle elk hunt, Randy, Tim of Leupold Optics and Beau of Wilderness Ridge Trail Llamas have a couple more days to fill their general season elk tags. The weather has been difficult to hunt in, due to lack of visibility; but they remain positive and optimistic about the hunt.
They are up early well before daylight for breakfast in the wall tent, before driving up to a glassing knob that allows them to see 360 degrees of good elk transition range. Hoping the winter weather has pushed the elk down, they do start locating some elk. Also Randy notices a set of bull tracks that cross the road on the way to the glassing knob.
They spend the rest of the hunt, putting their Leupold optics to work as much as they can whenever they get a good break in the weather. Restricted by their film permit, they continue to hunt the same general area. With hunting pressure and weather it makes for a difficult hunt to say the least.
