In episode 1 of this Montana rifle elk hunt, Randy Newberg is joined by Tim Lesser of Leupold Optics. After picking Tim up from the airport, they head to an area that Randy hunted last year and everyone tagged out on bulls. The weather has been weird compared to last year, and Randy is a little worried whether the bulls will have moved down into that area again or not.
Also joining them, is Beau Baty who was with last year and shot a giant bull on this annual hunt. They get to the area they want to hunt, and get camp all set up before dinner and a birthday celebration.
The next morning they are up early in the hills with plans to spend the prime time glassing for a bull. The winds are howling, causing not only discomfort but a bad feeling about whether elk will be moving in that type of weather or not. Tim and Randy have several days to find an elk, but with the weather they will have their work cut out for them.
